Google latitude not auto updating?

My brother little brother wants to report his location to me when he is out of the hose but I can't get it to show his exact location at the moment without him updating it himself. We want it to update at the moment like if he driving. We both have the sidekick 4g please help. If i can contact you through email for further assistance please include in your answer if i can.
