Do i need to buy internet service from my mobile phone service provider to use google latitude? ?

I like to use google latitude on my mobile (i have windows mobile as OS),

does "google latitude" application works only when i have internet access on my mobile?Do i need to buy internet service from my mobile phone service provider to use google latitude? ?
You will need internet access on your mobile phone to use Latitude, either through buying service through your carrier or through the use of wifi if your phone has built in wifi. Google Latitude uses those connections for both location and for information distribution.
