Most good maps have numbers in the margins, these numbers represent degrees,now latitude runs from west to east and longitude runs north to south..now fro example ifyou were looking for New Orleans, L A you would follow the 90 degree line to the latitude line to 30 degrees .the lines will intersect on New Orleans. If you can't use Google Maps to find the place, try using Google Earth.



But to find it on Google Maps, try simply copying and pasting the long/latitude into the Maps' search bar :)
